Fiber-optic cables often present challenges for fluid adherence - UV-LED curing from Gem/Excelitas Technologies delivers an alternative approach for marking fiber-op- tic cables by jetting fluid onto the cable assembly using a compatible inkjet engine, and curing it with intense UV light.
To enhance fluid adherence to the jacket material, a corona or plasma treatment is applied to the cable jacket. The result is superior, durable marking that withstands aggressive rub testing.
