BLACK INKS

Dye-based black codes are a universal solution to your marking & coding needs.

Simple, with sharp contract, read on to see which of our 5 standard black ink best suits your needs.

BKG7761 for Fluoropolymers

BKG7761 (patented) is a black soft pigmented ink for use in standard ink jet printers with nozzle sizes 55 microns and larger. No stirring or agitation is required during operation of the printer. The ink is compatible with printers designed for dye based inks. Contains specialized carbon black pigment dispersion: provides adhesion to Fluoropolymers (see Applications) prevents migration of the ink, light fast, resists damage by heat. MEK based ink.

FEATURES

Coding Fluoropolymer surfaces. MUST be post heated to obtain adhesion/fusion to Fluoropolymers.

FEP & ETFE generally require 300°C

PTFE generally requires 400°C

Printing on clean, dry wire highly recommended.

Processing speeds, dwell times, temperatures, insulation types and size must be optimized for each application due to site specific variables.

Recommended as a potential inkjet replacement for 6000BK and WB1140 traditional GEM inks.

BKG1661 Soft Pigmented Black

BKG1661 is a black soft pigmented ink for use in standard ink jet printers with nozzle sizes 55 microns and larger. No stirring or agitation is required during operation of the printer. The ink is compatible with printers designed for dye based inks. Contains carbon black which prevents migration of the ink, resists transfer on PVC, light fast, resists damage by heat, IR readable to aid in bar code applications. Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) based ink.

APPLICATIONS

  • PVC jacketing (hot or cold)

  • Metal

  • Rigid or Flexible

  • Dry Glass

  • Packaging

  • Coated & uncoated paper

  • Films

BKG3661HC Low Transfer

BKG3661HC is a dark black dye based ink for use in standard ink jet printers. This ink produces crisp black codes on light surfaces. Designed for easy use with a variety of nozzle sizes. This is a low maintenance, dependable, easy to operate ink. Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) based ink.

APPLICATIONS

  • Resists transfer when printed on plasticized PVC

  • Printed codes withstand tape test on most PET

  • Use on newly extruded or cold cable surfaces

  • Good adhesion to Nylon 6

BKG2361 Bottle Marking Black

BKG2361 is a dark black dye based bottle marking ink for use in standard ink jet printers. This ink produces crisp black codes that adhere to the surface of wet glass bottles. Designed for easy use with a variety of nozzle sizes. Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) based ink.

Caustic removable with most common additives *Resists transfer on PVC wire (improvement over BKG3661HC)

FEATURES

  • Print returnable or non‐returnable glass bottles with expiration & manufacturing information

  • Printed codes survive exposure to condensation on cool bottles

  • Adheres to PET, metal, a wide variety of plastics

  • crisp durable codes on many types of polypropylene packaging

  • Good adhesion to Nylon 6

BKG4861 Wire Harness Dye-Based

BKG4861 is a patented dye based ink for use in standard ink jet printers. This ink was specially designed for use in wire harness marking applications. Its unique adhesion properties replace the use of UV cured ink on wire cutting equipment. Adhesion and visibility of the code after exposure to automotive solvents is critical for these applications. Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) based ink. US Patent Number: US 794329316 B2

APPLICATIONS

PVC, PE and other wire codings

Printed codes penetrate into wire surface, while remaining visible

Process approved by Caterpillar ensuring a lasting code
